In order to prevent some criminals from using common commercial drones to engage in illegal activities such as sabotage, theft, and terrorist attacks, drone jammers are usually the first defensive key equipment. So the question is: What is the basic technical principle of drone jammers? What is its interference method?

At present, most of the drone jammers on the market use high-power suppression, which means applying interference signals on multiple communication frequency bands of drones to cut off the normal communication connection between drones and remote controllers.

The reason why drones can fly freely at low altitudes, hover, or perform shooting, delivery or other work tasks is inseparable from the remote control of the controller using the remote control, and all control commands are transmitted through wireless communication signals. The drone signal jammer applies interference signals one by one to all communication frequency bands that drones may use, which can prevent drones from being effectively controlled within the effective coverage range of the interference signal.

The remote control signal of the drone includes not only the command signal of the flight control, but also the image transmission signal. In addition, the drone itself also has GPS navigation and positioning signals. Therefore, the jamming signals emitted by the UAV jammers are not only aimed at the communication frequency bands of flight control and image transmission, but also at the GPS satellite positioning frequency ba nds.

The above are just the more common UAV jammers at present. Because the technical principles of these high-power suppression methods of jamming signals are relatively simple and the production costs are not high, the purchase price of this type of UAV signal jammer is relatively cheap, which can meet the requirements of customers for large-scale equipment and use.

In addition, there are a small number of UAV jammers that use other technical principles, such as decryption through the communication protocol interface, directly cracking the normal communication of the UAV, or even taking over illegal UAVs. However, this type of UAV jammer is a minority after all, and the output is limited, resulting in generally high production costs and purchase prices. At the same time, this type of UAV jammer cannot solve the communication protocol of any UAV, and can only effectively interfere with some known and a small number of decrypted UAVs. Therefore, their application scenarios are also subject to many restrictions.
