We often encounter customers who ask us: Can your product block the camera? I need to buy a set of wireless signal jammer to shield surveillance cameras. When encountering such a question, we really can’t give an answer right away. We have to ask the customer first: the target object you need to shield, that is, the surveillance camera, how does it transmit signals with the main control terminal of the surveillance system? ? That is to find out whether the signal is transmitted through the video cable or the wireless signal transmission through the wireless communication technology between the two. So the customer's question came out: Can the wireless signal shielding instrument shield the monitoring transmitted through the cable?
The answer to this question is very clear: the wireless signal shielding device can only be used to shield wireless signals, and it does not work for the transmission of wired cables. Only surveillance cameras that use wireless transmission of audio and video signals can be effectively shielded.
The vast majority of surveillance cameras using wireless communication technology use WiFi2.4G, WiFi5.8G or 4G and 5G data communication services of mobile phone SIM cards, and a small part of them use unconventional frequencies such as 433MHz and 1.2G. Wireless data transmission, but no matter which frequency or frequency band is used, the wireless signal shielding instrument can be equipped with a targeted shielding module to achieve effective shielding of these wireless communication frequency bands. This is absolutely free from technical hurdles and difficulties.
However, if the surveillance camera is connected by cables, especially these cables are often wrapped with shielding materials, then the wireless signal shielding instrument cannot play a shielding role for such wired cables. But there is one exception: if you put the wireless signal shielding device close to the surveillance camera, or put the antenna of the wireless signal shielding device next to these communication cables, sometimes even the audio or video signal transmitted through the cable will be observed , there will still be some cases of interference, but the performance of this interference is not uniform and stable, for example, the picture shakes, blurs or flashes, audio pitch changes, and so on. In extreme cases, the image may disappear completely, the audio cannot be distinguished, etc. This mainly depends on the power of the wireless signal jammer and the distance between equipment and wires. And this kind of interference phenomenon cannot be called complete shielding, it belongs to the category of electromagnetic interference more.
