Mobile phones pose a safety hazard to gas stations
The Jiangsu Provincial Fire Brigade made a request that the gas station should make a clear statement on the prohibition of making mobile phone calls.
(Yangtze Evening News, October 18, 2001) Not long ago, a gas station in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province suffered heavy losses due to an explosion caused by a driver using a mobile phone in the station. Yesterday, when the reporter learned from the Supervision and Management Office of the Fire Protection Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Fire Brigade, they had made a special request during the fire supervision and inspection, and the gas station should make an explicit statement on the prohibition of making mobile phone calls.
Most drivers ignore gas station safety warnings
The number of cars in Shenzhen is growing rapidly at a rate of 200 per day. How much do new drivers know about the safety regulations at gas stations? Yesterday, the reporter randomly interviewed several gas stations in the city, and found that although the safety warning signs in the gas stations are very conspicuous, many drivers turn a deaf ear to the safety regulations such as prohibiting mobile phone use and turning off the vehicle for refueling.
Most drivers have used mobile phones at the gas station. How many people obey the safety rule of "turn off the vehicle when refueling"? The reporter interviewed several gas stations in the city and learned that 80% of the newbies often need the fueler to remind them to turn off the engine when refueling, and the veteran drivers generally do not need to remind them to turn off the engine.
At the Sinopec gas station on Hongli Road, Ms. Huang from Meilin No. 1 Village told reporters about a dangerous experience she had experienced. Once when she was refueling, she got out of the car without turning off the engine, and the fueler reminded her to turn off the car before refueling. When she was refueling, her cell phone rang, and the fueler asked her to stand farther away to answer the phone. At that time, she felt a little unhappy in her heart, thinking that the fueler was very impersonal. When she was standing far away on the phone, she suddenly heard a strange noise from the spray gun being refueled, and saw a sudden flash of electric sparks from the front of the car. Although the gun later automatically stopped refueling, Ms. Huang was still taken aback. She told reporters that if it wasn't for the reminder from the gas crew, it might have turned into a catastrophe.
At a gas station near Liantang in Luohu District, 15 vehicles came to refuel within 20 minutes, and 9 of them were chatting and laughing on their mobile phones while refueling. When the fueler was refueling a car, the driver's cell phone rang, and the driver picked up the answer immediately. Although the fueler saw this scene, he did not remind the driver. On the pillar next to him, there was a sign saying "No cell phone use". striking sign.
During interviews with reporters, 2/3 of the drivers said they had used mobile phones at gas stations, and many drivers even said they didn't know this regulation at all. A Mr. Zhu said: "I've never heard of a phone explosion at a gas station." Many drivers think it's a big or small thing, and there's no need to make a fuss. Illegal operations are easy to cause accidents. It is common knowledge that fireworks are strictly prohibited at gas stations. However, not many people know that calling, receiving mobile phones at oil depots, gas stations, or not turning off the flame to refuel may cause oil and gas explosions. As more and more people use mobile phones at gas stations intentionally or unintentionally without turning off the flame to refuel, the relevant person warned that such illegal operations may become the fuse of oil and gas explosions, and its danger is tantamount to playing with fire.
A person from the petrochemical company said that the density of oil and gas around the vehicle will increase sharply when refueling, and the instantaneous electronic friction generated by the mobile phone in the state of transmitting or receiving signals at this time may ignite the gasoline and cause an explosion. In fact, the manuals of general mobile phone products will indicate: Do not use mobile phones at gas stations! At the same time, the reporter learned that only in the last year, gas stations in Yueyang, Zhengzhou, Changsha, Lanzhou and other places had explosion accidents caused by the use of mobile phones, resulting in heavy casualties.
Deputy Director He Chengbing inspected the installation and use of "mobile phone signal jammers" at gas stations
On March 16, 2007, He Chengbing, deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Safety Production Supervision Administration, led the person in charge of the hazardous chemical department and related personnel to install and use the gas station in the north of Pixian County of PetroChina and the CNG gas station in the north of Pixian County of Sichuan Petroleum Administration. The situation of "cell phone jammer" was investigated. Deputy Director Cheng Bing made a careful inquiry and understanding of the principle, function and coverage area of the "mobile phone signal jammer", and expressed satisfaction with the effect of installing and using the "mobile phone signal jammer" in gas stations and CNG gas stations. He asked the manufacturer to ensure product quality, do a good job in after-sales service, ensure that the use effect is good, and truly satisfy users.
Deputy Director Cheng Bing emphasized: According to the relevant national and provincial laws and regulations, production and business units, especially high-risk industries, should actively adopt advanced technology and equipment, and use effective technical means to eliminate hidden safety hazards in production and business activities. Guarantee the intrinsic safety of the enterprise.
