The Beijing Municipal Government issued a notice recently, deciding to use a high-power signal jammer system to implement radio control in some areas of Beijing, including Tiananmen Square.
Adopt high-power jammer systems, restrict or prohibit the use of radio transmission equipment and remote control and telemetry radio equipment, take measures such as technical blockade of specific radio frequencies, and implement mandatory management of radio wave emission, radiation and propagation. During the control period, except for the radio stations (stations) approved by the radio management agency for the service guarantee commemorative conference, the use of wireless electronic devices for communication in the control area is prohibited. That's not all, a high powered jammer system has shut down ham radio stations across the city, as well as paging transmitters. Microwave links passing through the control area and radio transmitters (stations) such as radio and television, radar, and shortwave located in the Beijing area must not change the approved technical parameters.
