Common problems in installing network shielding devices in universities

by LIU YIFA 10 Jun 2025

Now many universities will build standardized examination rooms for English CET-4 and CET-6 exams, and network shielding devices are usually one of the necessary guarantee equipment for standardized examination rooms. So what are the common problems in installing network shielding devices during project construction?

At first, the project construction party thought that installing a network shielding device was a relatively simple job, thinking that the shielding device could be hung on the wall and then powered on. Little did they know that doing so was just a simple coping and often would not achieve the best shielding effect. Especially in some complex on-site situations, it is very likely that the network shielding device is installed, but the shielding effect is not ideal.

To install a network shielding device in a university classroom, you first need to consider the choice of installation location. The more common installation locations are on both sides of the blackboard in front or behind the classroom, but when choosing a specific fixed location, you also need to pay attention to the following: the antenna area of the network shielding device cannot be close to audio cables, video cables, etc., otherwise it is likely to cause unnecessary signal interference.

When installing the network wifi jammer in a university classroom, you should also pay attention to the installation height of the shielding device. The recommended installation height is between 1.8 meters and 2.5 meters. If it is installed too low, it will be easily damaged by humans. If it is installed too high, it may cause incomplete coverage and unsatisfactory shielding effect.

There are two other situations in the university that will seriously affect the effect of the network jammer in the standardized examination room. The first situation is: in recent years, many operators' mobile phone base stations have been built directly on campus and installed directly on the roof of teaching buildings or other office buildings. The closer the base station is, the more it will affect the shielding distance of the network signal jammer. The second situation: when the installation location is chosen in the corridor of the teaching building, the local communication operator is likely to install indoor signal amplifiers, which are often installed in a concealed manner, such as in the ceiling of the corridor.
