Jammers do not directly affect your phone
Prison prisoners cannot carry mobile phones. Once they get it, they can use it to organize illegal activities, threaten witnesses, and plan to flee. Prison officials can use cell phone blocker to block signals from cell phones that could smuggle prisoners into prison. Using mobile phone jammers in prisons can affect the surrounding public mobile phone network.
We are working with the New South Wales Department of Corrective Services (CFNSW) to ensure that the use of portable jammer does not affect mobile phones. In 2013, as part of the 2015 wireless communication exemption decision, we approved a mobile phone jammer test by the Lithgow Correction Center.
The process should check if the disturber can block the cell phone signal in the prison without affecting the use of the cell phone in the prison. There are no confirmation reports or general complaints about the disruption of the mobile network in the region. After public consultation, which ended on July 6, 2018, new impairments were made. From November 1, 2018, CSNOW will continue to use mobile phone jammers at the Lisgow Correction Center with the approval of the 2018 "Wireless Communication Exemption". On the Lithgow Correction Center map, you can see the area covered by the mobile phone jammer.
