Choosing a signal jammer: Comparison between built-in antenna and external antenna

by LIU YIFA 31 Jul 2025

1. Performance

Built-in antenna: The antenna is encapsulated inside the fuselage, and the signal coverage range is relatively small. It is easily affected by the outer shell and internal structure, and is suitable for use in small spaces such as small meeting rooms and homes.

External antenna: The antenna is connected separately, with better radiation conditions, wide coverage, and better shielding effect. It is suitable for large areas such as large meeting rooms and prisons.

2. Convenience of installation and use

Built-in antenna: Plug and play, simple installation, strong resistance to physical damage, and good stability during transportation and use.

External antenna: The antenna needs to be connected correctly, the installation is relatively complicated, the antenna is easily affected by collision and pulling, and the maintenance cost is high.

3. Heat dissipation and stability

Built-in antenna: Usually plastic shell, poor heat dissipation, long-term use may heat up and affect stability.

External antenna: The metal shell has good heat dissipation, the power supply is separated from the host, and it is suitable for long-term continuous operation.

Conclusion and suggestion:

For small space, convenient installation, and limited budget, choose a built-in antenna.

If you want to cover a large area, pursue performance and stability, or have a high budget, choose an external antenna.
